Louis Martini - Gnarly Vine Zinfindel (2007)
My husband and I went to California wine country for our honeymoon and while we were out there we signed up for the Louis Martini wine club. This is one of the wines we received in our first shipment. It is a nice wine, I probably wouldn't buy it again, but that's the fun of a wine club! You get to try different wines you normally wouldn't buy for yourself and you just might find your new favorite!
I much prefer Louis Martini's Cabernet Sauvignon's to their Zinfindel, but overall this is a great quality wine. I first got pungent, peppery flavors followed by a strong taste of tobacco. After a few sips and the wine had a chance to open up, flavors of blackberries were dominant.
